Diego Armando Maradona read a press release to give his version regarding his departure from the Selección Argentina. The former coach attacked Julio Grodona, president of the AFA, and Carlos Bilardo, technical secretary and DT who directed him in the 1986 World Cup. "Grodona lied to me, Bilardo betrayed me," was his harshest sentence.

In a restaurant near Ezeiza, Maradona cited the media. The start was delayed by a fan that was leaked, and began to shout "Fluff" in support. Later, after committing to answer the questions on another occasion, the former Argentina captain began reading the statement.

He first recalled that after the end of Italia '90, Argentina has failed to overcome the quarter-finals of a World Cup. "They passed various technical bodies, it is no coincidence. Something is going wrong in the Argentine football" he said in his first criticism against the authorities.

Then he remembered that he took a devided team, but he managed to consolidate it, and that South Africa had mistakes and successes. "My cycle was the shortest of the last 35 years. I was called to extinguish a fire, we turned it off, and then, when we could work with much more time ahead, this happens" he said
And Maradona's explanation for his departure is simple: "Grondona lied to me, Bilardo betrayed me." He explained he wanted to continue in office and reminded that "Grondona, in the locker room after the elimination, said in front of witnesses and players that he was very happy with the work and wanted to continue."

What happened, according to the "Fluff" is that the offer that the president of the AFA did to him on Monday included a point that the leader knew he would not accept: "Within five minutes he said he wanted me to continue, but seven people from my staff should not continue. When he says this he is telling me he does not want me to continue"

He also argued that "when we were in mourning, Bilardo was working in the shadows to kick me out" and ended stating that "the next one holding the selection has to know that the betrayal is just around the corner, and there are characters who do not want good football Argentina . They take care of their personal interests and their bank accounts. "

They are stupid to get rid of him. He took a team that barely qualified to South Africa where they played better than all but a few. They could have been a favorite for 2014.

Sincerely,
Your Bendiness
